It has been proven that the way I learn best, is by not having any distractions around me. I also work very well in groups because one of my strengths are communicating with people. I am not in my zone, when people don't distract me and when I am in a quiet environment. I feel that I can concentrate much better when I am in a quiet environment and that I have the ability to excel, where as sometimes I get easily distracted and cannot focus.

I need to know that because I am a gestalt learner, I should also try and work more on the logic side, because I want to improve that as well and not only be a gestalt learner. If I am both, then I feel that I would be a smarter, and more well rounded person.

The strategies that would help me are using motions and seeing things instead of just being told what to do, because I am a kinesthetic learner and find it much easier to actually see and learn, than just take notes, and not understand the topic or subject. I would also like it if I was shown visually things more than just talks.


I need to concentrate more when I am in class and focus on not getting distracted even though I do sometimes. I need a quiet environment to work in, and need teachers to understand that if for any reason I am distracted in a noisy environment, it is because of who I am.

How can Da Vinci be characterized as a true Renaissance Man?

Leonardo Da Vinci can be characterized as a true renaissance man because he was born into the Renaissance time period in Italy. Leonardo was apprenticed by his father to take over his workshop in Florence. After he spent a long time in Florence at Verrochio's shop, he decided to move onto Milan. In Milan he created one of his masterpieces named " The Journey Of The Magi". Leonardo studied different subjects including: nature, flying machines, geometry, mechanics, municipal construction, canals and architecture. At about 1503 Leonardo Da Vinci started his work on the "Mona Lisa".He was also considered a true Renaissance man because he was patronized by Giuliano de Medici. In his later years although Leonardo suffered from paralysis he was still able to teach and draw.

Brunelleschi - Courage and Fearlessness

I feel that what really made Brunelleschi famous and important was the factor of courage and fearlessness. This helped Brunelleschi with building his dome, because if he was not strong enough to speak to the wealthy people of Florence, he would never be able to build a different and unusual structure. Another reason why the best way to describe Brunelleschi was by his courage,was because he also performed an egg display in front of the rulers of Florence. Before Brunelleschi displayed this idea, he was mocked and made fun of, but he didn't let that affect him. He showed them the display with no fear whatsoever, and after that was given permission to build the dome, whichever way he wanted.

Where Do New Ideas Come From?

I feel that new ideas come from our surroundings. Our surroundings influence us on the decisions we have to make. Ideas could come in a good way from surroundings or a bad way. For instance, if you get interested in biology or chemistry because you're family told you, then that is great. But, if you're friends tell you that you should start smoking, drinking and driving and taking drugs, well then you should really think about if you want to go with their ideas or not. I also think that a lot of posts  come from T.V. or books, a lot of ideas come from T.V. because people think that what they are seeing on television could be cool or exciting, when in reality what they have done is had the worst possible idea ever. I also very strongly believe that people should get ideas from the right people, or right sources. People should not fall into the trap of all these terrorists or people who will bribe you to do something wrong, because that is them giving you a horrid idea, and you fulfill their dreams...

Where Do New Ideas Come From?

I think that new ideas come from friends, family, and surroundings which include, internet, books and other resources. These days the internet would probably be the easiest one. People and TV have a huge influence on what peoples decisions and ideas are.

My Favorite Story! What Makes A Good Story?

Over the Short Story Unit, my favorite story has definitely been Lamb To The Slaughter. This story really caught my attention when the unexpected murder of Patrick Maloney occurred(conflict). It was a very nice and calm normal old times story, until Mary Maloney lost her temper, and finally just clubbed his head as hard as she could. After a while I gained appreciation for Mary Maloney. I felt that if she did not kill her husband, then Mary Maloney would be left alone with her baby and no one to support her. As soon as the murder occurred, the story started to take shape and that is where I was really getting into the story. The Theme in the end was probably the one thing that really let me enjoy the story. The character of Mary Maloney keeps changing, and that is very interesting. In the beginning, Mary Maloney was a normal housewife, but then she turns into a murderer. The resolution was quite hilarious because the weapon of murder had disapeared. I personally thought that the conclusion, was funny but did not really catch my attention.
